RF and microwave measurement uncertainty course

7 February, 2013

MSL is running a training course on RF and Microwave Measurement Uncertainty in Lower Hutt on March 20, 2013.

This one-day course gives an introduction to the topic of uncertainty for RF and microwave measurements. The course covers basic notions, with an emphasis on complex quantities. It explains how to identify and describe sources of measurement uncertainty, how to calculate uncertainty and how to report the uncertainty of a measurement result. Common scenarios in power, impedance and attenuation measurements are considered.

The course teaches practical applications of uncertainty for RF measurements while giving insight into the underlying relationship between measurement uncertainty and error. Staff operating under ISO 17025: "General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories" will find it useful.
